GCAA CAR 145 Human Factors and SMS Initial Training Bridging Module

UAE GCAA CAR 145 Initial.v2

The UAE GCAA mandates Human Factors competence under CAR-145.30(e) and the HF syllabus defined in GM1 145.30(e), while the organisation’s Safety Management System is required under CAR-145.65(d) to be established in accordance with CAR-X (CAR-SMS and CAR-OCR).

This Bridging Module provides the additional UAE-specific regulatory knowledge required for personnel who have already completed the EASA Initial Safety Training (Including Human Factors) as defined in GM1 145.A.30(e). The aim is to ensure alignment between the EASA qualification and the GCAA regulatory environment, including national SMS obligations, reporting requirements, and the application of HF principles within GCAA-approved maintenance organisations.

The course reinforces how Human Factors must influence the organisation’s SMS processes - including hazard identification, risk assessment, reporting, investigation, and safety assurance - under CAR-SMS.
