EASA Aerodrome Aviation Compliance Management and Auditing

Flight Ground Operations

EASA, as the pivotal entity in European aviation, has established stringent regulations to govern aerodrome design and operations. The Basic Regulation 2018/1139 is foundational, outlining the fundamental principles and requirements.

This course is designed to familiarize and prepare auditors to assess compliance with European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) regulatory requirements and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards pertaining to aerodrome design and operations. EASA Airports Aviation Compliance Management and Auditing No 139/2014 provides specific provisions and standards, focusing on the certification and operational needs of aerodromes.

With the introduction of REGULATION (EU) No 139/2014 of 12 February 2014 EASA assumed responsibility on behalf of the member states to manage the criteria by which member states will demonstrate compliance with ICAO Annex 14. The development of these regulations has been driven by the need to standardize operations, mitigate risks, and enhance the overall efficiency of aerodromes, in response to the dynamic nature of the aviation industry. The regulation contains the rules for the certification, management, operation, and design of aerodromes.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF THIS TRAINING - WHAT WILL I LEARN?

- Gain an understanding of the EASA Aerodrome Regulatory Frameworks

- Understand the requirements for airport certification and the specifications and guidance material for aerodrome design.

- How to create and manage an effective airport compliance system that aligns with EASA regulatory requirements.

- Gain insights into the management system requirements of Regulation (EU) No 139/2014 and understand the role of the compliance manager in maintaining airport management system principles.

- Understand the competencies required for auditors and develop the skills to conduct quality audits, including practical application through workshops.

- Learn the processes involved in handling corrective actions and conducting root cause analysis to address non-compliance issues.
